Upon asking for the iced espresso, I was told that "we just don't do that." So, instead of pulling the shot directly into the to-go cup, as to preserve the integrity of the espresso, it was pulled into a ceramic cup and set next to a cup of ice. I had to pour the espresso over the ice and leave all that crema in the ceramic cup. In the meantime, the barista made me feel like a complete idiot for even requesting an iced drink. I guess mapcap is too cool for me. I am a barista and know all about espresso and coffee and the best techniques for making it. Mapcap is too pretentious and rude (this has happened twice to me now) and I don't appreciate it. I will never return to Mapcap and plan on telling everyone I know to avoid this shop.
