Through use of a Best Buy gift card for xmas I picked up Thievery Corporation’s – Radio Retaliation. I am a fan of Thievery Corporation, but I mainly picked the album up for the packaging.

The case consists of cardboard folded and glued.
The inside part that holds the cd is just a folded up “poster” that has some very dope imagery and the tracklisting and information.

In the days were people are downloading music from iTunes, illegally, and from other stores, really pushing the envelope on packaging is a must. I don’t think hardcopy music sales are dead, they just need some life breathed into them. Packaging is one way.

As you probably know, Pantone and Gap opened up a pop up shop in Manhattan. What you may not have known is that Pantone is owned by X-Rite. X-Rite is based in Kentwood. I know why it was done in Manhattan. But I want to know why it can’t be done in Grand Rapids. Would this not go over well? I know I would love it.

Major life decision. One that could take years and hopefully will last my whole life.
My life will be based on BLACK ON BLACK. Preferably flat black on flat black. But I realilze I can’t have everything.
What does this mean? It means that before I purchase clothes, personal items, and personal design will all be based on black on black. Of course I cant get everything black on black, but I will get as close as I can. And I will be phasing color out of my life (maybe I will keep red).
This will take a while.
