Over the past month or so I have fallen completely in love with typography. When I was young and stupid I used to think that laying out type on a page is simple. It is just type right? So very very wrong.

Recently I have started a project that will force me to really truly work with type. And I am quickly realizing how wrong I was.

Currently The GRAM has an exhibition of Richard Avedon’s photographs.

The GRAM

While the exhibition was really good, I expected more. The GRAM is an unbelievable place to see anything. I think it makes any work look better.  Not that Avedon needed the extra help, but the building does make up for the lack of work from the Advedon collection. With that said, this is sort of a must see exhibition. 

The exhibition runs until January 9th, 2009

question: Is Target a cool enough brand for people to wear on their hats?

I know they have partnered with some really great designers, had the pop up shop in NYC, and have tried to be more hip than what they are perceived as.

I stayed at the JW Marriot in Grand Rapids over the weekend. 

The hotel itself is gorgeous, even though they do try a little too hard to be “hip”. But the rooms offer great views of Grand rapids, and give the city a “legitmate” feel. As if it is a real city that matters.
